Founder's Story

Hi there, Tricia Ross here; founder (and “Joy”) of Anderson + Joy! I started this company because I’d always dreamed of creating the ideal body butter - one that nourished and hydrated my super dry skin, calmed our son’s eczema, didn’t contain harsh ingredients, AND smelled amazing! Tall order for sure, but I was up for the challenge.

During the early months of the pandemic I spent my newly-found free time researching ingredients and different formulas in between getting to know Joe Exotic and his band of merry men and hunting down elusive rolls of toilet paper. After months of trial (and several errors), I created the ideal Whipped Body Butter. It was lightweight but mighty, packed full of soothing ingredients, and smelled like heaven.

As the lockdown continued and “2 weeks home” turned into many, many months, I started to create other bath and body care products. Before I knew it, I was shipping sample boxes to friends and family to get their feedback on the items I made.

Anderson + Joy has been (and will continue to be) a labor of love. I’m really proud of the products I’ve created - vegan and cruelty-free utilizing organic ingredients whenever possible, with no harsh chemicals like sulfates, parabens, or phthalates. And they will always be handmade with love 💚
